Soundfield WOF

A Soundfield, on-site WOF inspection will cover the following items:

1. The amplifier / receiver unit - checking:

  • that the power supply unit is correctly plug in,
  • that the “on” indicator light is showing
  • that the aerials are in their correct positions
  • that the speakers wiring are correctly connected to the unit;
  • that the unit is clean & securely mounted.

2. Check that the charger unit has the correct charging voltage.
3. Check charging light in transmitter.
4. Check that voltage levels in the transmitter - with & without the re-chargeable battery.
5. Check the contact points of the re-chargeable battery, inside the transmitter.
6. If re-chargeable battery is over 2 years old, consider replacement.
7. Check headset mike; replace sock; check plug in connector of the headset into the transmitter (wriggle test). Clean headset.
8. If headset is noisy or cutting out, check connections.
9. Turn system on & walk around classroom to check that all speakers are working. Re-staple any sagging speaker wiring.
10. Use a Sound Level meter to check volume setting in the classroom.
11. Use Tone Level meter to check that there is no dead spots in the classroom. If dead spots are identified, re-adjust aerial positions and/or re-adjust squelch settings.
12. Ask teacher if he or she has any problem or query, and if there is a user manual & trouble shooting sheet in the room. Supply both if they are missing.

The cost of a standard WOF visit is $75 + gst per visit; this includes the cost of the WOF for the 1st system. Any additional system is $48 + gst per system, thereafter. Please note that the cost of repairs and parts is on top of the WOF charges. Quotes for repairs and parts can be submitted prior to commencing work.
